Speech Therapy

Speech Language Pathologists (Speech Therapists) work on much more than just speech sounds. Addressing language comprehension, expression, cognitive skills, and emotional communication can help people who have difficulty speaking, to strengthen communication skills, and to break down the barriers that result from speech impediments or speech/developmental delays. The goals of speech therapy are individualized, with a medical Plan of Care outlined by an evaluating SLP and reviewed and authorized by the patient's primary care physician. Speech Therapists work with patients to address feeding and swallowing issues and also work with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices.
